Accessibility statement

This statement was last updated on June 2026.

At Woodland Wanderers we strive to provide an accessible, inclusive environment for babies, children and carers. I aim to work with parents in order to support them and their children in having the best experience possible when they visit us for play sessions.

We encourage parents and carers to complete the 'Anything else you would like us to know?' section on our booking form to enable us to make appropriate adjustments, if necessary, before you visit us.

Farm Accessibility

Parking

There are 3 disabled parking spaces available at the farm next to the main gates. These spaces are useful for those who need to be closest to the farm, however, they are not particularly wide. They do not support a greater accessibility in and out of the car doors.

Toilets

There is a disabled toilet available next to the The Barn cafe. Please note this space is small and does not include access to a 'changing places'.

Access

Woodland Wanderers play space:

There are some accessibility challenges in visiting the Woodland Wanderers site and access will depend on an individuals mobility needs.

The first section of the path is accessible with a zigzag ramp leading up the hill. There are handrails available in places. When you reach the top of the hill there is a small concrete step up.

Once on the woodland path the ground is fairly uneven with one section having significant exposed tree roots. There is a slight incline to reach the site.

The site is a natural wooded area. Please be aware the ground is uneven with wood chip paths and some inclines.

We have a mixture of floor based and table based activities at different heights.

It has been possible for many young wheelchair users to access the site with the support of a parent or carer. The site is much less accessible for adult self propelled wheelchair users and those using electric wheelchairs.

If you require any further information please get in contact via woodlandwanderersleeds@gmail.com and I will be happy to help.

Cafe

The Barn cafe can be accessed via a fairly steep ramp. The courtyard area directly in front of the cafe is cobbled.

Playground:

The playground is not accessible for wheelchair uses currently. This is under review with plans having been made for a new accessible play space.

Open Water

Meanwood Farm is lucky enough to have a beck running through it. This is near to the cafe area. The open water could pose a potential hazard for some.
